Have you always wanted 'your' honeybees in your own garden? Never had the time but always wanted to watch them fly in your own flowerbeds or allotment? Would you like improved pollination of your fruit trees, fruit bushes, shrubs or orchard? Wish to do something positive to help the bees and the planet?

I offer a bespoke hive installation service to your requirements. I shall bring a pair of complete hives (or more if you wish) with a colony of bees in each and install them at a suitable site in your garden. I will then regularly maintain each colony throughout the year and they provide you with free pollination of your flowers, fruit trees, shrubs and vegetables, a supply of honey and the knowledge that you are doing something for the bees, for the planet and being very 'green' to boot! Whilst exact yield from each colony varies from year to year, an average colony can produce anything between 15 and 100lbs of honey per year, depending on weather, local forage and farming practices.

How it works:

I come to visit you at your intended apiary site, be it your garden or some other secure site. We shall discuss the location of the apiary and your expectations. I shall require access (with vehicular access nearby) to the apiary site on a weekly basis, year round (although probably less often in winter), at a mutually convenient time to be agreed. I shall then arrange a delivery date and time, and come and install the colonies & hives. This is usually in spring to early summertime. Bees do not like being moved around too much, so correct siting is key to their contentment and yours. This is also a long-term commitment, so please be sure of your decision to invite them into your garden. Please check with your spouse/partner and your neighbours, if they're close by, too. The honey that the bees bring in is yours but the costs of extraction, bottling and labelling, if required, is as per those sections elsewhere on this website. Transportation of the honey to and from my honey-extraction room is free of charge, naturally, as I am already there.

As with my other services, I shall give you a weekly report by email, including a brief synopsis of the colony's health, state of seasonal development and anticipated honey yield (at the appropriate times of the season). Also as with the other services, I am more than happy to have you join me in the apiary (I always have a spare beesuit) and you can watch, learn and join in if you wish. 

Please note these visits are time limited to about  20-30 minutes per hive.

LOCATION: This service is offered within a 10 mile range around NR14 7PD. Anywhere outside this, please contact me to discuss, as there may have to be travelling charges.

Hive Installation Service:

For two hives - £100 per calendar month

For three hives - £150 per calendar month

I am afraid I no longer just install one hive as it is not cost effective.
