Everyone tells me I must tell you my story, so here's a potted history...
Alex MacColl started out as a hobby beekeeper in 2009. Taught beekeeping, like so many others, by another local beekeeper and neighbour, he started small, learned the 'secrets' and had much success at the Suffolk County Honeyshows, winning all kinds of prizes for his beautiful, clear and delicious honey. Having moved up to Norfolk in 2018, and then with his job looking in trouble thanks to the 2020 pandemic, a friend suggested that there was a need for local honey extraction services so he set up Anglia Honey Services to provide support to the local beekeeping fraternity. This has now grown in various directions, as required by the customers, and now includes support in most aspects of beekeeping to the small to medium sized beekeeper and for those interested in starting their own beekeeping journey.
Alex lives on an old farmstead in the beautiful Norfolk countryside just south of Norwich with his lovely wife Cara, their teenage son, 2 cats, a dog and about a couple of million bees (across 8 apiaries)!
( Apologies if you have seen this website recently saying I was winding things down - change of plan! Have recently fully retired from my 'proper job' and am now a full time beekeeper. Normal service is resumed! )
Alex is a full member of the British Beekeepers' Association and recently of the Norfolk Beekeepers Association.
Our honey products are available direct or at your local farmers market. We also help other beekeepers market and sell their honey. Our honeys change with the seasons, so order ahead! It's just pure honey. Nothing is added, nothing taken away.
Our honey is a totally natural product, produced locally in Norfolk and contains pollen and natural enzymes which are said to be good for your health and help with allergies such as hayfever and asthma.
